Meet our Founder and CEO

Angela Connor is the Founder and CEO of Change Agent Communications. Connor created the agency for the sole purpose of continuing her legacy ushering organizations through change, pushing when they need to be pushed, introducing new and contrarian ways of thinking, placing laser-focus on the audience and helping brands embrace the future and meet people where they are.

Angela spent nearly eight years at Capstrat (acquired by Ketchum) – starting as social media manager and ascending to Executive Vice President, Media and Audience Engagement. She built the social media team from the ground up and led the paid media, digital and analytics practices.  Angela advised clients such as Blue Cross and Blue Shield, South State Bank, Fidelity Charitable and Deloitte on internal and external digital transformation and engagement strategies, crisis communication and social media marketing.

An expert at growing successful online communities, Angela is the author of “18 Rules of Community Engagement: A Guide for Building Relationships and Connecting With Customers Online,” (Happy About, 2009), and is often asked to share her social and digital media insights at conferences across the United States.

She is a former journalist with 16 years of experience leading multimedia newsrooms in Cleveland, Tampa, West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale.  Angela was named a Triangle Business Journal’s ‘40 Under 40’ Leadership Award Winner in 2012 and is a member of the National Advisory Board of Elon University’s School of Communication, and the Communications Board of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, where she also leads the Social Media Task Force.

In 2012, Angela lead the social media strategy for the White House Council for Community Solutions, created by former President, Barack Obama.
